Revealed: The hidden pact between Chelsea and Romelu Lukaku’s agent that might see the striker go for a price cut this summer

Chelsea are all set to offload Romelu Lukaku in the summer for a deal that was agreed privately with the player’s agent last year.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues are willing to sell the Belgian forward for a transfer fee of £38m (€44m) in the upcoming window. The player’s exit clause was decided between the Premier League giants and his representative last summer.

Teams from across the world, including his current club AS Roma – where he is on a year-long loan – can trigger the clause to sign him permanently ahead of the 2024/25 season. He has reportedly drawn interest from several Saudi Pro League sides.

The former Manchester United and Inter player has enjoyed a successful loan spell in Italy in the current season having scored 20 goals across all competitions in 44 appearances and provided four assists for Daniele De Rossi’s side.

The Belgium international will be next seen in action for his club on Thursday as they take on Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final fixture.
