It’s very possible – Mohammed Kudus on Black Stars securing knockout stage spot

Ghana star Mohammed Kudus is confident the Black Stars can secure qualification to the knockout stage despite winless run at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

The West Africa powerhouse are yet to win a game at the tournament, losing one and drawing one in the process.

The Black Stars lost 2-1 in their opening Group B game against Cape Verde before sharing the spoils with Egypt on Thursday night.

The thrilling encounter between Ghana and Egypt ended 2-2 draw on Thursday night at the Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny.

Mohammed Kudus, who missed Ghana’s opening game against Cape Verde made a triumphant return to the team, scoring a brace against Egypt in the highly-competitive clash.

But the record AFCON holders came from behind twice to secure a vital draw following defensive blunders from the Black Stars.

“It’s very possible, until we finish the last game in the group, it is the same focus. You could see the fighting spirit and the energy from the guys today. We have to do more than that in the last game because we have to get the three points at all cost and then, we see what is going to happen after” he said.

The West Ham United star was adjudged with the Man of the Match awards following his superlative performance for Ghana.

The Black Stars face a must-win situation against Mozambique on Monday to progress to the next round.
