Getafe player gets red carded 36 seconds after subbing into game against Real Madrid

Every game against Jose Bordalas’ Getafe has a controversial touch to it and his team’s 1-0 loss to Real Madrid wasn’t any different.

Getafe lost the very physical game to a Kylian Mbappe goal in the 80th minute off an Arda Guler assist but the biggest talking point happened just four minutes earlier.

Veteran Cameroon defender Allan Nyom got substituted into the game but fouled Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr as Madrid built an attack and was shown a straight red card by referee Jose Munuera 36 seconds after coming on.

Nyom’s sending off led to Bordalas and Vinicius Jr and Jude Bellingham exchanging words and in his post-game presser, Bordalas slammed the Brazilian forward’s behaviour.

“Vinícius came up to me and said, ‘What a good substitution. I told him to get back on [the pitch].”

“I don’t think Vinícius should come over and provoke and say to me, ‘Very good substitution” Bordalas said to Movistar.

37 year old Nyom has made just two appearances in the 2025-2026 season and had attracted a yellow card in a prior game.
