Ange Postecoglou is fired as manager of Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest Football Club have confirmed that Ange Postecoglou has been dismissed from his role as manager of the club. He lasted just 39 days at the helm.

The sacking comes in the wake of a 3-0 loss to Chelsea at the City Ground; the loss is Nottingham’s sixth in eight games in all competitions.

In this terrible run, Nottingham had six losses and two draws under Postecoglou ahead of a Europa League tie against FC Porto and an English Premier League tie against AFC Bournemouth.

Ghanaian-British born defender Joshua Kofi Acheampong scored his debut goal for Chelsea in the win over Forest; the 19 year old is eligible to represent Ghana.

Postecoglou replaced Nuno Espirito Santo earlier this season and supervised shock Forest losses to the likes of Swansea City in the Carabao Cup.

A portion of the club’s statement on Postecoglou’s sacking stated, Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that after a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been relieved of his duties as head coach with immediate effect.”

Former Burnley and Everton manager Sean Dyche has been heavily linked to the job.
