Our team fell apart mentally- Carlo Ancelotti blasts players after Brazil loss to Japan

Brazil’s National Men’s Football Team head coach Carlo Ancelotti has delivered a strong statement to his players after suffering a shocking loss to Japan.

The Selecao took a two goal lead in the first half but shockingly conceded three goals to lose 3-2 to Japan in an international friendly game.

Brazil, coming off a 5-0 win over South Korea, led through Paulo Henrique in the 26th minute and Gabriel Martinelli in the 32nd minute.

However, Brazil folded in the second half as Japan stormed back with AS Monaco midfielder Takumi Minamino leading the comeback to record the big result.

After the game, Carlo Ancelotti was unhappy with his team’s performance particularly the mental side of their game after conceding through a Fabricio Bruno mistake.

“No, everything is not fine. When the team loses, we are upset, which is normal. Everyone is upset. I don’t like to lose, and neither do the players.”

“Until (Fabricio) Bruno’s mistake on the first goal, the game was well controlled. After that, the team fell apart mentally. That was the team’s biggest mistake” Ancelotti said at a post-game presser according to StraitTimes.

Brazil have qualified to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
