Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe and Vini Jr. have sent messages of condolences to Diogo Jota’s family after learning of the Liverpool forward’s death.

The Portuguese international passed away on July 3, 2025, at the age of 28. He was involved in a car accident while travelling through the Zamora province of Western Spain. Jota’s brother, Andre Silva, also died as a result of the incident. The crash was caused by a tyre blowout.
The pair were heading for a ferry port in Santander, for an overnight journey, so Jota could return to pre-season training. He was due to report for duty on Monday.

JOTA TRIBUTES FLOOD IN
The Real Madrid galacticos have joined fans, players, coaches and personalities from across the world of football sending their messages of condolences to Jota and his family. Ex-Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp, admitted heartbreak over the news, calling Jota a “great friend”. Cristiano Ronaldo said “it doesn’t make sense”, before sending his best to Jota’s wife. The 28-year-old married his childhood sweetheart just two weeks before his passing.
BELLINGHAM, MBAPPE & VINI JOIN TRIBUTES
Mbappe took to his Instagram stories posting a photo of Jota with the message: “Deepest condolences, support, and thoughts are with those involved their family and loved ones. Rest in peace Diogo & Andre.”
Bellingham posted: “Heartbreaking news. Rest in peace Andre and Diogo. Sending love and strength to the family.”
Vinicius Jr.’s message read: “Rest in peace Diogo and his brother Andre Silva! Much strength to the while family!!”

The Real Madrid stars are currently in the United States for the Club World Cup and are due to return to action on Saturday against Borussia Dortmund in a quarter-final tie.
