We will not appeal GFA Disciplinary Committee decision on Basake Game- Nations FC

Nations Football Club have stated that they will not appeal the decision of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Disciplinary Committee’s latest decision against the club.

The Committee ruled that Nations FC breached the rules of the GFA for abandoning a Ghana Premier League (GPL) tie against Basake Holy Stars in the penultimate round of the 2024-2025 GPL season.

Nations abandoned the contest in the first half while trailing 1-0 after conceding a second penalty and expressing concerns over safety and security issues.

Nations got fined 2,500 Ghana Cedis, handed a 3-0 loss via forfeiture with the subsequent three points given to Basake Holy Stars as a result of the ruling.

This means Nations FC have slipped to fifth place in the end of season standings in the GPL behind Bibiani Gold Stars, Kpando Heart of Lions, Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak respectively.

Reacting to the ruling by the GFA, Nations FC stated in an official release that, “We acknowledge the Disciplinary Committee’s decision, albeit with disappointment. While we disagree with key aspects of the ruling, we have chosen not to pursue an appeal.”
