GFA’s Ghanaman Soccer Centre expansion hits 70% completion

The Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) ongoing construction of a new multi-purpose hall and gymnasium at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence (GSCE) in Prampram is now 70% complete, as work continues on schedule.

The project began in August 2024 with a sod-cutting ceremony led by GFA President Kurt Okraku and is being funded through a combination of FIFA Forward Programme support and internally generated resources.

Once finished, the facility will feature a modern gymnasium, a Futsal arena, and a swimming pool, creating a fully equipped sports and rehabilitation centre for national teams and other users of the GSCE. The upgrades are expected to enhance training, recovery, and overall athletic performance.

In parallel, the construction of two new natural grass pitches is also underway. When completed, the GSCE will have three natural turfs and two artificial pitches, one of which is floodlit, to complement its existing infrastructure.

Since 2019, the technical centre has undergone a remarkable transformation, now housing four dormitories, an administrative block, changing rooms, and multiple football pitches.

The latest additions are set to further establish the GSCE as a central hub for football development in Ghana, catering to both elite and budding talents.
