GFA delegation attends 75th FIFA Congress in Paraguay

Ghana Football Association Vice President Mark Addo, Executive Council member Samuel Aboabire, and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo (Esq.) are representing Ghana at the 75th FIFA Congress currently underway in Asunci, Paraguay.

The annual gathering has drawn representatives from all 211 FIFA Member Associations, who are meeting to deliberate on a range of pressing football matters.

The congress agenda includes elections for key committees such as the Disciplinary Committee, Ethics Committee, Appeal Committee, and the Governance, Audit and Compliance Committee.

This year’s congress holds added significance, particularly for South America, as the region gears up to host major events, including the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the centenary celebration matches for the 2030 FIFA World Cup.

The Ghanaian delegation brings considerable experience to the event. Both Mark Addo and Prosper Harrison Addo have previously participated in past FIFA Congresses, including those held in Kigali, Rwanda (73rd edition), and Bangkok, Thailand (74th edition).

Over 3,000 delegates and participants are expected to be involved in the congress and its associated programmes, reinforcing the global unity and governance efforts of world football’s highest decision-making body.
