2025 CAF AFCON U-20: “My boys will give everything”– Desmond Ofei on quarterfinal clash

Ghana’s U-20 National Team is gearing up for a crucial quarter-final clash against host nation Egypt at the 2025 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations, following an impressive group stage campaign that saw them finish second in Group C.

A win in Monday’s (May 12) encounter at the New Suez Stadium will not only send the Black Satellites to the semi-finals but also secures qualification to the FIFA U-20 World Cup.

With everything on the line, head coach Desmond Ofei says his team is grounded in identity, driven by hunger, and ready to rise to the moment.

We need to stay true to our values, our DNA, and our philosophy. My boys are hungry for success. They’re going to put everything out there on the field” Ofei said ahead of the high-stakes 2025 CAF U-20 AFCON matchup.

While a FIFA U-20 World Cup slot is on the line, the coach emphasized a bigger motivation—proving their worth to the nation.

They want to show Ghana that they are the future of our football; They will give their best. We are prepared for anything; extra time, penalties, whatever comes but we are coming into this with a clear game plan and belief” Ofei added.

The Black Satellites take on Egypt at 15:00 GMT kickoff at the New Suez Stadium.
