Berekum Chelsea forward Stephen Amankona to earn Ghana call-up for 2025 Unity Cup tournament

Berekum Chelsea attacker Stephen Amankona has reportedly been included in the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Unity Cup tournament.

Ghana will join West African rivals Nigeria, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago in London this month for the highly anticipated four-nation tournament, celebrating the best of African and Caribbean football.

According to reports, Ghana coach Otto Addo, who is impressed with the performance of the former Asante Kotoko attacker has handed him a call up for the upcoming tournament.

The 25-year-old is one of the few local players considered for the tournament, to be held in London later this month.

Amankona has performed admirably this season for Chelsea, racking up 13 goals in 23 appearances in the Ghana Premier League campaign.

On Tuesday, May 27, the TriniJam Derby will see Trinidad & Tobago take on Jamaica in their first-ever meeting on UK soil. The following day, May 28, West African giants Nigeria and Ghana will renew their historic rivalry in a match that promises fireworks.

The competition will conclude on Saturday, May 31, with a double-header—one game to decide third place, followed by the grand final to determine the Unity Cup 2025 champions.
