Frank Lampard lauds Thomas-Asante’s impact against Middlesbrough

Coventry City FC manager Frank Lampard has praised forward Brandon Thomas-Asante for his impact against Middlesbrough.

The Sky Blue recorded a 2-0 win against Middlesbrough in the English Skybet Championship on Saturday.

The win has propelled Coventry to a playoff place for the Premier League next season.

Leeds and Burnley have secured promotion from the EFL Championship to the top-flight division, and four teams are set to battle for the last qualification spot.

Thomas-Asante played 18 minutes off the bench and registered an assist in the win and Lampard was full of praise of the Ghana international.

“Shout out to Brandon, who came on, showed physicality, speed and desire,” the former Chelsea boss said after the game.

“He’s been injured, came back, trained well and has been telling me he’s ready, and he showed me he was ready today, and he had a massive impact on the game,” he added.

Coventry take on Sunderland on May 9 and May 13 for a spot in the finals of the playoffs.
