Brighton & Hove Albion manager, Fabian Hurzeler, has hinted that Tariq Lamptey could make a return before the end of the season.
The Ghana international missed the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after sustaining an injury.
He missed the 2-2 draw at Manchester City, having sat out the previous game with Fulham due to suspension.
Speaking ahead of the Seagulls FA Cup quarterfinal game against Nottingham Forest, the German gaffer said Lamptey will make a return to the pitch before the end of the season.
“Tariq will be out for a longer time – he has an ankle injury,” Hurzeler said.
“I think there’s a chance that we will see him back [before the end of the season]. He is a good healer, I have a big trust in my medical staff and in Tariq’s mindset to be back on the pitch as quickly as possible.
“There’s a chance that he will be back in several weeks,” he added.
Despite his absence, the Black Stars beat Chad 5-0 and beat Madagascar 3-0 to get in pole position to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup from Group I.
