Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is feeling optimistic about Ghana’s standing atop Group I in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, but he’s quick to caution his squad and fans against getting too comfortable.
Fresh off a commanding 3-0 win over Madagascar on Monday night in Morocco, Addo stressed that while the team is riding high, complacency could unravel their progress. Ghana’s back-to-back victories have them sitting pretty, yet the Ghanaian-German tactician insists the job is far from done.
“I think we are in a good position but this is also danger. If anyone thinks we are through then he is making a big mistake,” Addo said after the match.
The Black Stars put on a show against Madagascar, with Thomas Partey striking twice once in the 11th minute and again in the 53rd before Mohammed Kudus capped the night with a goal in the 58th.
The players will now return to their clubs, regrouping in September to keep pushing for a World Cup spot.
