Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo says the Black Stars have shifted their focus to their next match against Madagascar after securing an emphatic 5-0 victory over Chad in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The Black Stars dominated Chad from the start, with Semenyo opening the scoring in just 90 seconds.
Ghana created multiple chances and eventually sealed the win with goals from Inaki Williams, Jordan Ayew, Mohammed Salisu, and Ernest Nuamah.
Despite the impressive result, Semenyo insists that the most important task now is Monday’s clash against Madagascar.
“The 5-0 is important, but like the coach said, Monday is the most important, so we are just ready for that really. But it was a vintage performance today,” he said.
“Coming into the game, we wanted to win, we wanted to score as many goals as possible, and also get first place in the group.
“I think from the previous games in AFCON, things didn’t go well, so we wanted to win to get a big start in the remaining qualifiers.”
Ghana currently leads Group I with 12 points, and a victory against Madagascar on Monday would strengthen their chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
