The Anas Exposé has taken Ghana football 50 years back- Takyi Arhin on Kwesi Nyantakyi’s discharge

General Manager of Aduana Stars Football Club, Takyi “Thunder” Arhin, has slammed investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas as he believes that Anas’ investigative work and eventual exposé about former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi, has sent Ghana football 50 years back.

He said this in an interview on ChannelOne TV while responding to Ghana’s High Court discharging Kwesi Nyantakyi from the ongoing trial linked to his involvement in the Number 12 exposé on Thursday, February 13, 2025.

Nyantakyi’s discharge came on the back of the prosecution’s failure to present the case’s key witness, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Touting the administrative qualities of Nyantakyi, Takyi Arhin believes that the exposé did more damage to Ghana football than good since Nyantakyi hasn’t been involved in football since due to a FIFA ban.

“The Anas exposé has taken us back to about 50 years…our football has not been the same as it was during the days of Kwesi.”

“Kurt (Okraku-the GFA President) is doing his best…he (Nyantakyi) was Vice President of CAF, EXCO Member of FIFA; now Kurt is also gunning for the CAF Executive Council member (position). If Kwesi was to be there and Kurt would have been added to it so the Anas exposé has gotten our football 50 years back” Arhin said.
