The head coach of Sudan’s national team, James Kwesi Appiah has expressed optimism about the chances of his side excelling at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
This comes at the end of the draw for the tournament where Sudan was pitted in Group E to face Algeria, Burkina Faso, and Equatorial Guinea.
According to the Ghanaian tactician, his side is not afraid of any opponent in Group.
Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview, coach James Kwesi Appiah noted that he is confident his team will perform very well at the 2025 AFCON.
“Sudan, we are in Group E, and all the teams there are really good. For me, for you to participate in a competition, then your aim should be going out there to win the cup.
“If you’re afraid of any team, then why are you participating in the competition in the first place? I believe that Sudan will perform very well and I’m hopeful that any team that we meet, we will try our best to get a victory,” Coach James Kwesi Appiah said.
The 2025 AFCON which will commence on Sunday, December 21, will run through to the next month with the final scheduled for Sunday, January 18, 2026.
