Ghanaian midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng seals Fortuna Dusseldorf loan move

Ghanaian attacking midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng has officially joined German 2. Bundesliga club Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan from Bundesliga side VfL Bochum.

The 26-year-old completed his move during the winter transfer window after successfully undergoing his medical examination on January 11, 2025.

Fortuna announced that Kwarteng’s loan deal will run until June 30, 2025, with an option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.

This signing strengthens Fortuna’s offensive line, providing them with a dynamic, goal-scoring player who can operate across all attacking positions but prefers the central role.

Speaking about the move, Kwarteng expressed excitement about joining Fortuna, stating, “The people in charge at Fortuna have been trying to get me for a long time, and I know Daniel Thioune from my time at HSV.

“I believe I can settle in quickly and contribute to the team’s success. My goal is to enrich the team with my style of play and inspire fans in the arena.”

Sporting director Christian Weber praised Kwarteng’s versatility, highlighting his dynamism and quality in the final third.

Before his move, Kwarteng made seven league appearances for Bochum this season.

Born in Germany but of Ghanaian descent, he remains eligible to represent Ghana internationally.
