‘Olympique Marseille will always be my dream club’, says Andre Ayew

Ghana attacker, Andre Ayew has praised the reception he received from the Olympique Marseille supporters on Sunday despite Le Havre’s defeat.

Ayew returned to his boyhood club where he started his career and spent eight years at the Stade Vélodrome with Le Havre.

He scored a consolation in their 5-1 defeat against his former side.

Upon scoring, the experienced attacker refused to celebrate as a sign of respect to his former club and the supporters repaid his respect by standing on their feet to give him a huge round of applause.

Speaking after the game, Andre Ayew was very elated for the moment – one he will never forget and has reiterated Marseille will forever be his dream and favourite club.

“Honestly, I want to thank all the people of Marseille. I am touched from the bottom of my heart,” he said.

“This club has given me so much. After the Padre and everything he has done, I have left my mark. It has always been my dream club,” he added.

Ayew has made 10 appearances for Le Havre AC across all competitions in the ongoing season so far.
