Nora Häuptle has left the country following the expiration of her contract as head coach of the Black Queens.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced the appointment of the Swiss as the manager of the Ghana women’s national team, replacing Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo who had been in charge since 2019.
However, Häuptle has left her role after deciding not to renew her contract with the GFA. Her contract expired on December 31, 2024.
During her tenure, Häuptle qualified the Black Queens for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament which is scheduled to be hosted in Morocco later this year.
However, she lost out on qualifying the Queens for the Olympics Games after losing to Zambia’s Cooper Queens.
As reported earlier by sportstimesgh.com, Nora Häuptle is expected to be appointed as the head coach for Zambia’s Cooper Queens. She is expected to sign a two-year deal with a monthly salary of $7,000.
Her appointment was approved by the Executive Committee of the Zambia FA on 21 December.
Meanwhile, the Ghana FA are on the market searching for a replacement for Nora Häuptle for the 2025 WAFCON.
