“We are lucky and satisfied”- Nigeria coach after draw with Black Galaxies

Daniel Ogunmudede, coach of the Super Eagles B team, is pleased with his team’s draw in the first leg of the African Nations Championship qualifier against Ghana.

Nigeria held Ghana to a goalless draw in Accra during a thrilling match between the West African rivals.

Ogunmudede believes the Super Eagles B team were lucky against the Black Galaxies after Ghana failed to take their chances at home.

“Before we came here, we knew what we were coming to face in a team like Ghana considering the rivalry between the two countries. We knew how tough it would be whenever we meet on the stage so we expected a very tough battle, we are lucky and satisfied with the result we came out with,” he said after the match.

The Nigerian team left on Monday morning to Abuja to resume preparations for the second leg.

Nigeria will count on home support ahead of the second leg in Abuja next week as they eye a place at the tournament to be hosted in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania next year.
