West Ham United forward Mohammed Kudus has shared his excitement after playing a crucial role in salvaging a point for his team in their 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The match, held at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday, saw the visitors take the lead early in the second half. Mats Wieffer scored his first goal for Brighton after Pervis Estupiñán delivered a high ball into the box.
West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski managed only a partial clearance, allowing Wieffer to capitalize and score from close range.
West Ham responded just seven minutes later. Jarrod Bowen skillfully advanced into Brighton’s half and unleashed a shot that Brighton’s goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen parried.
Kudus was perfectly positioned to head in the rebound, levelling the score for the Hammers.
Speaking to the club’s website after the game, the Ghanaian international expressed his happiness at making an impact and vowed to aim for victory in their upcoming fixtures.
“It feels good to have been able to contribute to the result,” Kudus, who has so far scored three goals in the ongoing campaign said.
“As an attacker, it’s always good to score, and it will really help my confidence.
“It would’ve been nice to have helped to get all three points, but it wasn’t meant to be,” he added.
West Ham will next face Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Thursday, December 26.
