Liverpool in talks to sign Dutch-Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong

Liverpool have entered negotiations to sign Dutch-Ghanaian defender Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen.

Frimpong has been a subject of interest for several clubs in Europe due to his outstanding performance for the Bundesliga outfit.

According to reports, Liverpool have begun talks to secure the services of the highly-rated right-back.

The Premier League outfit see Frimpong as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has popped up on the radar of Real Madrid.

The English international will become a free agent at the end of the season and could depart the club.

Liverpool are said to have invited Frimpong’s agent to Anfield for a possible transfer talks.

The 24-year-old defender, whose contract expires in the summer of 2028 has a release clause of €40m in his contract.

The former Celtic defender has been impressive for Leverkusen since the commencement of the campaign, racking up two goals and providing 8 assists in 23 appearances this season.
