After helping Los Angeles Galaxy progress to the Western Conference Finals of the Major League Soccer (MLS) playoffs, Ghana winger Joseph Paintsil praised the outfit for helping him following his move from Belgian side KRC Genk.
He said this in his post-game interview after Galaxy beat Minnesota United 6-2 to seal its place in the Conference Finals against Seattle Sounders. Game One of the finals take place on Sunday, December 1 at 3:00 AM.
Paintsil, Gabriel Pec and Dejan Joveljic scored a brace each in the win to become the first team to have three players grab a brace.
“This team really helps me and helps calm me down especially the coaches. No matter what I do, they always tell me to keep going, no matter the mistakes and I really thank the coaches…also the people involved also giving me some couple of days off to also see my family was also something really important because I don’t know if it was Belgium, I wouldn’t have had that kind of opportunity.”
