The Black Stars are scheduled to depart Accra for Luanda at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, in preparation for their Group F AFCON 2025 qualifier against Angola’s Palancas Negras on Friday.
On Monday, eight players participated in training: Razak Simpson, Isaac Afful, Emmanuel Antwi, Gideon Mensah, Kudus Mohammed, Elisha Owusu, Joseph Wollacott, and Osman Bukari.
By Tuesday, fourteen additional players had joined the squad at the Accra Sports Stadium, including Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Abdul Manaf, Terry Yegbe, Jordan Ayew, Ransford Yeboah Koningsdoffer, Kingsley Schindler, Ibrahim Sulemana, Michael Baidoo, Nathaniel Adjei, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Alidu Seidu, Ernest Nuamah, Forson Amankwah, Francis Abu, and Ebenezer Annan.
With these arrivals, Coach Otto Addo has a roster of twenty-three players for the journey to Angola.
Ebenezer Annan, originally scheduled to join the team in Accra, will now meet the squad directly in Luanda to avoid jetlag, as the Ghana Football Association adjusted his travel plans.
The Black Stars currently sit third in Group F, with just two points from four games, making their qualification for AFCON uncertain.
For Ghana to secure a spot, they need victories over both Angola and Niger, alongside favourable outcomes from Sudan’s remaining games, including a loss to Niger on Thursday.
Angola, already qualified for the Morocco tournament, tops the group with a 12-point record.
