Asante Kotoko boss Prosper Ogum told to quit coaching and return to classroom

Former Asante Kotoko striker Sadick Adams has questioned the club’s head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum’s capabilities, suggesting he should leave coaching and return to academia.

Adams argues that Ogum’s background as a lecturer hinders his ability to connect with players, claiming that PhD holders often treat coaching like a classroom session.

Ogum has recently come under intense pressure, as Kotoko has suffered three straight losses in the Ghana Premier League despite a strong start.

Disappointed with the team’s downturn, Adams took to social media to express his concerns.

I thought they said he is a good coach. Last season did not go well, and this season too? I can’t deal with doctors or professors who are coaches. Those coaches talk like they are teaching in school.

“Coaches who are lecturers should lecture in school and stop coaching. It is different lecturing in school and dealing with players. Lecturing players will not work because they are professionals.”

In Ogum’s second tenure, Kotoko faces a must-win match against Nations FC in week 11, critical for both morale and preparation for the high-stakes Super Clash with arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, who are level with them on 15 points.
