Desmond Ofei, the coach of the Black Satellites, has promised to keep an eye on players from lower division clubs.

The head coach of Ghana’s Black Satellites, Desmond Ofei has reiterated his commitment to scouting and nurturing talent from the country’s local division leagues.

This promise follows his praise for the exceptional performance of eight players selected from the Division Two League, who impressed at the 2024 WAFU Zone B U-20 Championship.

In an exclusive interview, Coach Ofei expressed his admiration for the standard of play in the lower divisions.

To be able to put together Division Two players and compete at the level they did, is extremely commendable and heartwarming,” he said

Coach Desmond Ofei emphasised that both he and his coaching staff will persist in tracking the progress of players from these divisions to ensure that emerging talent is given the opportunity to shine.

Together with my team, we’ll continue to monitor the development and progress of players from the lower divisions. I want to wish all the participating teams the best of luck ahead of the start of the new season,” Coach Desmond Ofei said.

The efforts of the eight Division Two players have played a crucial role in the Black Satellites’ qualification for the upcoming CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, scheduled for next year.
