Ghana international Andre Ayew has expressed his displeasure following Le Havre’s defeat against Stade Rennes in the French Ligue 1 at the weekend.
Ayew, who recently made a return to the Ligue 1 outfit lasted the entire duration of the match as Le Havre succumbed to a 1-0 defeat on Friday.
The first half of the match ended in a pulsating goalless draw, as both teams struggled to find the net at the Roazhon Park.
However, Rennes prevailed with a narrow win in the second half after Andres Gomez found the net in the 54th-minute.
“A top mentality, our supporters. Difficult not to take a point. Let’s keep going” he wrote on Instagram after the game.
The 34-year-old Ghanaian attacking midfielder has made two appearances after recently making a return to Le Havre. He was one of the standout performers for Le Havre last season and will be hoping for a successful second stint with the xclub.
Ayew re-joined Le Havre in early October, signing a one-year contract that will keep him at the club until summer 2025.
Meanwhile, Ayew’s compatriot Alidu Seidu was subbed off in the 78th-minute after picking up an injury.
