2025 AFCON Qualifiers: Otto Addo confident of qualification despite goalless draw with Sudan

Ghana coach, Otto Addo has maintained that the Black Stars will qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.

His assurances come after the senior national team were held to a 0-0 scoreline against Sudan in the first leg of the Matchday three games on Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Black Stars despite the improved performance failed to find the back of the net of the Falcons.

The results leave the four-time African champions at the 3rd spot in Group F.

Addressing the media after the game, the 45-year-old said they still have their destiny in their hands despite the tough start.

According to him, they will win their remaining games and secure qualification for the tournament that will be hosted in Morocco next year.

It is still in our own hands. we win our next games and we will qualify,” the former Borussia Dortmund assistant coach said.

We will do it,” he assured.

Ghana will be hosted by Sudan in the return leg on Monday, October 14 at the Martyrs of February Stadium. Kick-off is slated for 13:00 GMT.

After the upcoming game, the Black Stars will play Angola away before hosting Niger in their final Group F games.
