Alvaro Djalo, an Athletic Bilbao winger, described scoring his debut goal as a gift from Black Stars forward Inaki Williams.
He said this in an interview after scoring in the 80th minute of Bilbao’s 3-1 triumph over Celta Vigo in La Liga.
Djalo’s goal was helped by Ghana’s Inaki Williams, who utilized his speed to beat a Celta defender on the right side before crossing for the 25-year-old Djalo to nod home.
Following the game, Djalo expressed his delight at scoring for his childhood club and praised Williams for assisting.”I am very happy especially for contributing my first goal with my childhood club. The first thing I did was run and hug Inaki (Williams) for the gift he has given me and I’m very happy.”
Inaki Williams recorded his fourth assist in three games, following three assists in Bilbao‘s 3-2 victory over Las Palmas.
The 30-year-old forward’s form has improved since representing Ghana in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
