Winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku has expressed his enthusiasm about playing alongside Black Stars teammate Jordan Ayew.
Ayew, who transferred from Crystal Palace to Leicester City on a two-year deal this summer, has joined Issahaku at the club.
The 30-year-old’s arrival is anticipated to improve Leicester City’s results after their Premier League promotion.
Having shared the pitch in the first four games of the season, Issahaku and Ayew are now set to reunite in the Black Stars squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
“He [Jordan Ayew] is always a senior player and I love playing with him. He always guides and gives you more advice and even outside and inside [on] the pitch so I’m happy,” Issahaku told the media during the team’s first training session on Monday.
“I think it’s going to be easier for me playing with him both in the national team and club.”
Ghana’s match against Angola is set for September 5 at the Baba Yara Stadium, followed by a game against Niger on September 9 in Berkane, Morocco.
