Winning the Homowo Cup marks the beginning of good things for Hearts of Oak, according to coach Aboubakar Ouattara.

Aboubakar Ouattara, the head coach of Hearts of Oak, has stated that he hopes the team’s victory in the 2024 Homowo Cup will be the start of good things for the club.

Since the last two seasons, the capital-based club has failed to compete in both the Ghana Premier League and the MTN FA Cup. Fans had reason to celebrate on Sunday after Hearts of Oak rallied from behind to draw 1-1 with Heart of Lions before winning the Homowo Cup on penalties.

In his post-match interview, Coach Aboubakar Ouattara stated, “Winning the trophy today against Heart of Lions is the beginning of positive things for the club.”

He continued, “I am proud because last season [fans] suffered and after, I think this trophy is just the beginning of the league. Maybe we can see a new-look Hearts of Oak in the league.”

Hearts of Oak is signing quality players to boost their squad ahead of the start of next season.
