I will not compare the current Hasaacas Ladies team to the 2021 squad. – Emmanuel Mensah

Hasaacas Ladies‘ assistant coach, Emmanuel Kwesi Mensah, has refrained from drawing comparisons between the current team and the squad that won the inaugural WAFU B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers.

The Hasmal Ladies achieved victory in the first edition of the zonal championship and were runners-up in the main Champions League tournament.

Kwesi Mensah underscored the importance of focusing on the present rather than comparing the current team to their predecessors.

Following a 0-0 draw with Omnisports Etincelle in their opening match, he remarked, “I am of the opinion that the past belongs to the past. I don’t dwell so much on the past.

“We came here with our own expectations; that we have high standards and we have to win. It doesn’t matter the results that came two years ago.

They had different crop of players. We have different crop of players and for me, we were looking forward to a win which like I said, I am very disappointed because we have a very good standard. Even the draw could have been a good result for us but because of our standards I will that I am not too impressed with it.”

Hasaacas Ladies will now turn their attention to their upcoming match against Edo Queens on Wednesday, August 14.

Edo Queens won their Group B opener decisively, defeating Niger’s AS Garde National 5-0.
