GFA aggressively looking for new partners – Kurt Okraku

President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, has revealed that his organization is aggressively seeking a headline sponsor for the Ghana Premier League.

The league has not had a headline sponsor since betPawa withdrew in the middle of the 2023/24 season.

Prior to that, the league had not had a headline sponsor since it resumed following the Number 12 expose.

Speaking at a meet the press series on Friday, Kurt Okraku said, “At the same time, when you climb the ladder, we say we are looking for what we call headline sponsorship. We say we’re looking for $1 million or $2 million. In our realistic current times, it may be very, very difficult for a company to come to you with $1 million or $2 million.

But if you use the creative approach I’ve already explained and examine your cost lines, and start to consider cost lines with partners that fit those cost lines, you will see that if you’re looking for $2 million, you will end up raising $2 million.

“You will see it clearly. Alternatively, instead of giving yourself a headache by focusing solely on finding a headline sponsor, you could aim for four partners to each contribute $500,000.

“In effect, the FA is very aggressive in looking for partners.

The Ghana Premier League is set to start on September 6, 2024.
