Leicester City eyes Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew as Crystal Palace considers offer

Leicester City has expressed strong interest in signing Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew from Crystal Palace.

The newly-promoted Foxes have made a formal approach for the former Marseille striker, who has been with Palace since joining from Swansea on July 25, 2019.

Sources from Standard Sport reveal that Palace is open to letting Ayew leave if a suitable offer comes through. Currently, the Black Stars attacker is in the United States on Palace’s pre-season tour. Known for his work ethic, Ayew has been a valuable asset for the Eagles.

Leicester’s interest in Ayew comes after his impressive performance last season, where he scored four goals and registered seven assists in the Premier League. Over his Palace career, Ayew has tallied 23 goals in 211 appearances. He signed a contract extension last November, keeping him at the club until June 30, 2025. He made his debut on 1 September 2018, starting in Palace’s 2–0 loss to Southampton.

In the next days, the Eagles will determine whether to sanction the move. According to Transfermarkt, Jordan Ayew’s current market worth is 4 million euros.
