West Brom accept Hull City’s bid to sign Ghana striker Brandon Thomas-Asante

West Bromwich Albion have accepted Hull City’s bid to sign Ghana striker, Brandon Thomas-Asante.

Albion and the Tigers have struck an agreement which will see the 25-year-old frontman sign a three-year contract at the MKM Stadium with the option of a fourth.

Thomas-Asante was in attendance when City hosted Italian giants Fiorentina in their penultimate friendly of pre-season on Tuesday night.

According to reports, Hull City will pay in the region of £2m for the striker.

Thomas-Asante will link up with Walter’s squad later this week and is expected to be in contention to face Reading at the SCL Stadium on Saturday as City bring the curtain down on their pre-season campaign.

The striker, who can also operate off the right flank, played 39 times in the Championship last term for Albion, netting 11 goals and registering two assists as Carlos Corberan’s side snatched a play-off place ahead of the Tigers, before losing out to eventual Wembley winners Southampton.

In total, Thomas-Asante netted 18 goals in 72 appearances for the Baggies after arriving two years ago from Salford City when the Championship club paid around £300,000 for the Ghana international, who was heading into the final 12 months of his Hawthorns deal.

Thomas-Asante has impressed for West Brom since joining from Salford in 2022 and has finished as top scorer in his first two seasons at The Hawthorns.
