Asamoah Gyan officially launches All Regional Games at Baba Yara Sports Stadium

Former Ghanaian international Asamoah Gyan and his team officially launched the All Regional Games on Saturday, July 6, 2024, heralding a new era in sports development in the country.

The launch was held at the iconic Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Dubbed as a platform to discover and nurture talent, the All Regional Games will feature competitions in football, athletics, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, boxing, Esports, and arm-wrestling at the regional level.

Anticipation for the event had been building for weeks, with activities generating excitement among both fans and participants.

The launch was graced by dignitaries including Vice President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, and Director General of the National Sports Authority Numekevor Dodzie, highlighting widespread support for the initiative.

Entertainment personalities like comedian Ras Nene (now Dr. Likee), and musicians Fancy Gadam, Guru, and Wendy Shay added to the festive atmosphere, captivating the enthusiastic crowd of hundreds of fans who turned out to support Gyan’s ambitious new venture.

During the April press launch, Gyan outlined the selection process where each region will identify top athletes through rigorous trials.

Selected athletes aged 18 to 23 will compete against counterparts from other regions, with the competition dates yet to be announced.
