2026 World Cup Qualifiers: Otto Addo must carefully plan for the rest of the games – Laryea Kingston

Former Ghana international, Laryea Kingston has implored Black Stars coach, Otto Addo to carefully plan for the rest of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

Laryea made these remarks following Ghana’s back-to-back wins against Mali and Central African Republic in the matchday three and four games of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Black Stars stunned the Eagles 2-1 in Bamako before recording a hard-fought 4-3 win against the Wild Beasts at the Baba Yara Stadium.

With the Black Stars now set to face Chad and Madagascar in March 2025, Laryea Kingston, who is a former Black Starlets coach counselled Otto Addo to plan carefully for the rest of the games of the qualifiers.

“We should not be excited about the two wins but Otto Addo must plan for the rest of the games,” he told GTV Sports Plus.

“I think he has clearly shown what he wants to do but he should and send the message to the players that this is how we must approach the game and we must deliver.

“These players cannot be taught how to play football but Otto Addo must stamp his authority on the team,” he added.

The wins against Mali and CAR have propelled Ghana to the 2nd spot with nine points in Group I. The Black Stars are aiming to secure their fifth Mundial ticket.
