Fenerbahce boss Jose Mourinho has revealed a number of stories and secrets, and revealed which one player he would have liked to sign as a manager.
Former Manchester United defender and pundit, Rio Ferdinand, posed a number of questions to the legendary Portuguese manager as he revealed an incident where he almost broke his leg in the Chelsea dressing room. He also revealed that he would have loved to sign Lionel Messi but has deemed that the ‘little guy’ was not coachable as he was the best in the generation.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Mourinho said: “My favourite dressing room moment? One of my favourite moments in the dressing room was when I almost broke a leg at Stamford Bridge at half-time. I wanted to kick the massage table and I hit something very hard. I had no shin pads [laughs] and I almost broke a leg.”
“One player that I never signed but wished I had? In my generation, of course, I would say the little guy [Messi]. The little guy was not coachable but I have to say, in our generation, he was the best.”
Despite having coached Cristiano Ronaldo, this is not the first time Mourinho has sung praises of Messi as he has called the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner the greatest multiple times. Mourinho has shared a lot of games with the Argentine and during his time with Real Madrid, he also defeated Messi and Pep Guardiola to the 2010 La Liga title.
