Bulgaria-based striker Bernard Tekpetey has opened up on his consistent Black Stars snub despite being on top form at club level.
Tekpetey, who plies his trade for Bulgarian giants Ludogorets has constantly being overlooked by the technical team of the national team.
But according to the former Schalke 04 striker, he is unfazed by Black Stars snub whiles expressing readiness to rejoin the national team when handed the opportunity.
Asked about why he has been earning call up, he said, “This depend on the coaching staff. Sometimes they have their own philosophy and the type of players they invite due to the system they want to play. I have no problem if a coach invite me or not”
He added, “I’m always ready. When I get invitation, I will honour it” he said.
The 25-year-old has capped five times for the national team since making his debut back in 2017.
Tekpetey had an outstanding campaign with Ludogorets, contributing significantly to their league title and domestic cup victories.
He scored 10 goals and provided five assists in 30 league appearances in the just concluded campaign. Out of the 30 games he played, he started 27 and came off the bench on three occasions.
