Black Stars forward Jordan Ayew has admitted that he has been played out of position for sometime with Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team.
He made this admission in his post game interview after scoring a hat trick of goals in Ghana’s 4-3 win over Central African Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Against CAR, Jordan Ayew was used as the lead central attacker rather than as a wing forward on either flank as had been done in previous games.
His goals were crucial in mounting a comeback from a 2-1 deficit to clinch the win. His performance drew huge praise from Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.
Ayew also scored the winning goal in Ghana’s 2-1 win over Mali in a previous World Cup qualifier.
“To be honest, I’ve been playing out of position for quite some time in the national team…but it’s not a problem for me because I just want to play football but I’ve never complained or anything like that.”
“God’s time is the best and in life you never have to give up you just have to be patient and keep on working and believe in yourself and things will turn out being positive.”
Jordan Ayew’s hat trick is the first for a Black Stars player since 2017.
