2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers: Black Stars target Group I top spot ahead of CAR game

he Black Stars of Ghana have set eyes on placing first in Group I of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at the end of the June international break.

The national team of the West African Country has so far played three matches in the World Cup qualifiers and in a pole position to secure qualification.

On Thursday night, the Black Stars fought to secure an important win over Mali in Round 3 of the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

In that game played in Bamako, the Black Stars trailed at halftime and had to grind for a dramatic win at the depth thanks to goals from Ernest Nuamah and Jordan Ayew.

Following that win, the Black Stars are now on six points and places second in Group I.

Up next for the Ghana national team, the Black Stars will take on the Central African Republic in their next game of the qualifiers.

Ahead of that match, the Black Stars are targeting victory to have the chance of going top of the Group I standings of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
