In the wake of his move from Serbian giant Red Star Belgrade to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Austin FC in the United States of America, Ghana winger Osman Bukari has affirmed his motivation to help the club excel.
Writing on his X (formerly Twitter) page in response to a post announcing his arrival at the club, the 25 year old former FC Nantes player stated, “Happy to be here”.
In an interview with Austin FC media after penning a three and a half year deal as a Designated Player on the roster, Bukari stated,
“I am very motivated and excited to join Austin FC. I want to do everything I can to help this team, this city, and this fanbase to achieve their goals.”
Bukari’s contract extends until 2027, with an option to extend by a year to 2028, and his Designated Player status puts him in course to be one of the club’s highest earners.
Bukari has featured for Ghana’s National Football Team, the Black Stars, at the AFCON and 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He has been called up to the Black Stars squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and Central African Republic in June.
At club level, he has won back to back Serbian Cup and League titles and competed in the UEFA Champions League. He registered seven goals and five assists in 24 league games in the 2023-2024 season.
