Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku kick-started the CAF Club Licensing Regional Workshop in Accra on Monday, May 20, 2024.
Stressing the significance of collaborative efforts, Okraku addressed representatives from 15 Member Associations at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel, underlining club licensing as pivotal for African football’s development.
Presiding over the opening ceremony attended by General Secretaries and Club Licensing Managers, Okraku extended a warm welcome to participants, emphasizing the workshop’s importance in CAF’s developmental agenda.
Okraku reiterated the words of CAF President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, highlighting club licensing as integral to Africa’s football progression.
“I am very happy to welcome all of you to this special city called Accra. I count Ghana as a blessed country to be given this opportunity to host all of you on behalf of the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
“I know our President, Dr. Patrice Motsepe (CAF President) is watching us closely because Club Licensing is a key part of the many things on his heart. He has said on many platforms that Africa must develop football and CAF must deliver football in the best possible way.”
Expressing optimism for the Club Licensing Online Platform (CLOP), set for operation in the upcoming season, Okraku urged collective commitment towards African football’s advancement.
The event will run from Monday, May 20 to Thursday, May 24.
