Bofoakwa Tano prioritizing staying in Ghana Premier League over FA Cup success

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tano Bofoakwa, Alexander Ababio, has emphasized they are prioritizing staying in the Ghana Premier League over winning the FA Cup title.

The Sunyani-based club currently sit 11th on the league log and will be hosted by FC Samartex in the Matchday 30 clash at the Nsenkyire Sports Complex on Sunday.

Speaking to Citi Sports, Ababio highlighted the need to win the rest of their matches to maintain their status in the Ghana Premier League.

“Right now for me, if I’m to choose, I would choose to stay in the league for now but all said and then, we prepare match after match. We are hoping that we will be able to achieve this premier league status and be able to maintain it, that’s our ultimate goal for now,” he said.

“With Nsoatreman, I hope will be able to beat them. Ever since we came into the premiership, we have played two matches and all ended in a draw. Though we were able to beat Dreams FC, we won’t be complacent that we were able to eliminate them.

“This is going to be a local derby and we will prepare well to beat them,” he added.

In the FA Cup final, Bofoakwa Tano will come up against Nsoatreman FC at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.
