President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has applauded Dreams FC head coach Karim Zito for his exceptional work.
The Ghanaian tactician is the brain behind the success of Dreams FC in the MTN FA Cup and the CAF Confederation Cup.
He masterminded the club from Dawu’s amazing run in the CAF Confederation Cup as the team reached the semi-finals despite no experienced in any of the continental inter-club competitions.
Recalling the successes of Coach Karim Zito, Kurt Okraku has stressed that it is important the gaffer is accorded his deserved respect.
“Sometimes when I see him (Zico) work and I hear him speak, I feel a bit emotional because he’s somebody I have known for long. I think he’s earned his respect among our coaches, and it’s important we accord him the respect that he deserves.,” President Simeon-Okraku said.
Kurt Okraku continued, “From his long experience as an ex-international, to his experience of coaching all the big clubs in Ghana to him winning the WAFU Tournament, to winning the AFCON Tournament and qualifying Ghana to the 2021 World Cup which was cancelled to winning the FA Cup and to qualify Dreams to the semi-final if the CAF Inter-Club competition for the first time in 20 years by a Ghanaian club, Ayekoo.”
Although Dreams FC are out of the CAF Confederation Cup, the team is on course to defending their MTN FA Cup title.
On Thursday, Coach Karim Zito and his boys defeated Soccer Intellectuals by a goal to nil to reach the semi-finals of the domestic cup competition.
