Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique believes Mohammed Kudus has the potential to replace Mohamed Salah.

Former Liverpool defender, Jose Enrique beleives Mohammed Kudus can replace Mohamed Salah at the club.

The Egyptian football icon has been heavily linked with a move away from Anfield in recent seasons and Saudi Pro League sides are expected to mount a fresh attempt to snap him up this summer.

Multiple reports revealed that Al-Ittihad launched a staggering £200milion bid for Salah last summer, although the Reds were able to resist the approach.

It is believed that Saudi clubs are expected to make an offer for the former Chelsea and AS Roma attacker and Enrique beleives that should Salah depart, Mohammed Kudus is the right player to replace the 31-year-old at Anfield.

Mohammed Kudus is someone that I think could be a replacement for Salah,” he told Grosvenor Sport

“Even last summer I would have said that and now of course he is playing really well for West Ham. You could also throw in someone like Ebere Eze from Crystal Palace, but there aren’t really any obvious replacements out there.

“Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich is a possibility because he is in a bit of situation with his contract there at the moment. He is the kind of name that they need to bring in and he could be an option,” he added.

Mohammed Kudus following his move from Ajax to West Ham United has been a key figure for The Hammers.

In his debut campaign, the 23-year-old has scored 13 goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for West Ham.
