The Football Association has sent a heartfelt message to Kate Middleton after the Princess of Wales revealed she is undergoing treatment for cancer.
The princess revealed in a video statement that after having abdominal surgery in January, it was discovered she had cancer. The 42-year-old has since been undergoing chemotherapy and amid an outpouring of support, the FA – a body that Prince William is president of – have sent a touching message to her.
After the Princess took to Twitter to reveal the news, a quote tweet from the FA reads: “Our thoughts are with the Princess of Wales, the Prince of Wales and their family. We send our very best wishes to the Princess for a full recovery.”
For many weeks, there has been intense speculation in the press and on social media about the princesses’ health since her operation in January. Now this matter is in the public domain, the Royal Family have called for privacy, with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak commending her for her “tremendous bravery” while wishing her a “speedy recovery”.
The princess, who is now not expected to appear with the Royal Family on Easter Sunday and will continue to stay away from official duties, added that the family now needs “some time, space and privacy” after a very difficult couple of months.
