World champions Argentina to play Ghana in a friendly tie in March – Reports

The Black Stars of Ghana are set to play against defending FIFA World Cup champions Argentina in an international friendly game in March later this year.

This is according to sports journalist Juan Arango and former Ecuadorian footballer, Hernan S Castillo.

The Black Stars have fared quite poorly in recent friendly games with Ghana losing to USA and Mexico while drawing goalless with Namibia and beating lowly ranked Liberia 3-1.

The reported tie against the Black Stars is one of two friendly games lined up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup winners with another friendly game set against China with Lionel Messi expected to feature against the West African country.

Ghana and China are involved in continental championships with Ghana involved in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) while China is competing in the Asian Cup.

The Black Stars have just a point in two games in the ongoing AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast.

The team will take on Mozambique in their final Group B game on Monday, January 22 at 20:00 GMT at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium.
