Mallorca legend, Emilio Nsue starred for Equatorial Guinea on Thursday afternoon and he bagged a sensational hat-trick to lead his country to an important 4-2 victory over Guinea-Bissau
The forward led the lines for his country in their second Group A match at the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON0 tournament.
Leading by example, it took just 21 minutes for Emilio Nsue to score to give his country the lead.
Before halftime, his equaliser was cancelled when Esteban Obiang scored an own goal to see Guinea-Bissau restore parity to the contest.
After the halftime break, Equatorial Guinea put up a dominant display and scored three additional goals to secure victory.
Captain Emilio Nsue scored twice in the half to complete a hat-trick while Josete Miranda scored the other goal for Equatorial Guinea.
Ze Turbo netted Guinea-Bissau’s second consolation goal but it was not enough to save the side from a 4-2 defeat at the end of the 90 minutes.
The win takes Equatorial Guinea to the top of the Group A standings temporarily ahead of the clash between Ivory Coast and Nigeria this evening.
